KABLUEY update

Show times haven't been announced yet, but the plan is to attend the 5-ish showing on Sunday afternoon, August 24. We may pre-function across the street, either at Kenny & Zuke's (for beers & reuben sliders) or the old school bar at Clyde Common and cram in the photo booth for pictures to remember the day!

Scott will be at the theatre following the show, and pre-functioning with the 7-ish show people. (including his mom and her crew) So, presently, that is my plan. I'd love to introduce him to you all!

The Living Room Theatre (in case you haven't been there) is a very cool place, with bar and snacks in the lobby, lattes, etc.. and small-ish theaters. So if you are interested in going with us, please give me a holler!

The arrival of Donovan

Our handsome nephew and his gorgeous wife have added another leaf to the family tree.

Donovon joins Aidan, Mason, Wilson, Logan and Oliver - to give the Perkins family six boys in the youngest generation. (distributed between three of our nephews)

Candace and Ian just home from the hospital with Donovan and Aidan.

KABLUEY

A fresh, unique, touching and often hilarious film that is a real summer treat...
all hail Scott Prendergast as a new director who is going places!' - REX REED

My nephew's movie is finally hitting Portland! Scott Prendergast's Kabluey opened to excellent reviews in Los Angeles and New York, and San Francisco and Portland are next on the list.

I want EVERYONE to come and see it in Portland! I will most likely try to arrange a gathering on one night (probably Sunday, Aug 24) - either at a nearby watering hole, or in the lobby at the theatre.

The Living Room Theatre (341 SW Tenth Avenue) has a bar and snacks right in the lobby, though it's also across the street from the ACE hotel, which would be another great place to convene.

Whatever the details, a good time is in store for everyone who gets a chance to see this fun movie! I saw it last summer when it premiered at the LA Film Festival and I can't wait to see it again!

Scott will be there on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23 to do q & a's after the screening.

Or call me and we'll arrange to go together!

Weekend Fun

Man, it stinks when you have to visit a winery and aren't old enough to drink wine. Poor Cam & Betsy!

Sweethearts.

The brothers

Archery Summit is one of my favorite wineries, and once again they didn't disappoint! The weather was glorious, and the wine was yummy. Lots of joking about the wine descriptions ensued and a good time was had by all.

Then we went to the air museum - pics of the Spruce Goose to follow.

Sunday was a trip on the Mount Hood Loop with lunch at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. Another beautiful day!

Cocktail party with the brothers

Some of my favorite friends stopped by for a cocktail and a chance to meet my little brothers.

A good time was had by all!

More to come. We're off to the wine country.

View from the Deck

We've been enjoying our new deck so much - I guess sitting on a rickety old dirty deck is just not as inviting as a shiny, new ipe deck, free of clutter.

Sunsets have been breathtaking lately. The pictures don't do them justice. But we take them anyway, because sometimes we just can't believe their beauty. And we have a front row seat.

Dog People

Five words:

The Story of Edgar Sawtelle

Steven King loved it.

I can't put it down. Doesn't hurt that it's set in Wisconsin and that it's about dogs. Still.......I'm thinking it's my next book club choice and I'm going to be passing around my copy. So good.

It's a beautiful summer for weddings

We attended another wedding last weekend - this one in Bend.

Matt has been a soccer buddy for 12 years, and we adore his entire family. Brittany is his best friend and he "loves her and likes her." They are a beautiful couple!

We went with our good friends Kim & Glen and their boys, and our boys. Everybody danced the night away, and our boys danced with their mothers with only a little coaxing. Later, the pretty girls wanted in on our dancing boys and the adults sipped wine in the moonlight. What a wonderful night!

My dear Kimster. It was like the good old days with you, and I loved our happy time together!

We're a little wrung out here after some wild dancing...what a fun mother of the groom, and we truly enjoyed her son's big day! MUAH!
