Three Kims and a Fritz

So I must have jiggled the camera...and we hadn't even had a mimosa yet! Sorry about the blur.

Off to the Street of Eames with Kim & Fritz and Kim and Norris. The official Street of Eames website won't let me poach a pic of our favorite house, but it was the Saul Zaik in our neighborhood. Such gorgeous open spaces & I loved the curved fence!

After touring four houses, we made a pit stop and started hauling out all the food we brought. Such a feast, with champagne & tangerine juice, pinot gris, lots of wonderful spreads and crackers, meats, fruit & sweets. Who needs the last two houses? Not us... we came back home and opened more wine! Such a fun day with awesome friends.

After a power nap, Kim and I met the third Kim of the day at the Kingstad center for a benefit dinner. "How can we drink more wine? Let's switch to beer!"

'Lil Kim bought the most items from the auction... but I bought the worst junk. Anything to keep shoveling money into the coffers, though I couldn't possibly drink enough to get talked into bidding on that sailboat, sorry Rita!

Soon I'll be hitting the Nike Employee Store with Kim. (we each won a pass)

More Kim escapades to follow!

Weekend Update

Life has calmed down.

I have a house to show you. R's move from McMinnville to the big city will make her life so much more fun, and her commute only a few minutes instead of the better part of an hour.

The best part of this house? A bubbling creek and fire pit with stools made from old logs. It's like living in the country, but not. And such great sellers who have become her friends.

What else have I been looking at? Well, I want the perfect family home for two young doctors, and we're looking N, S, E & W. I'm also scouring Bridlemile and Ainsworth for two beautiful families. I've seen some awesome houses lately. Here are a couple of my favorites.

This house has been updated to the max. All the tile is a bit hard-edged for me, but it's a great property in a neighborhood with a pool.

This house is dynamite! Got 1.8 Mil? The decor is stunning.

What a beautifully remodeled kitchen! It's in a neat ranch house with a big back yard. Still under consideration by one client. (and if the location wasn't a bit tricky, it would have sold 10 times by now)

I loved this one. Mid-century, thoughtful design by a local architect. It sold with multiple offers in just a day or two.

I have the greatest job!

Update on my own house....

Siding almost complete, paint colors chosen, deck design/materials complete, and we're just waiting for them to finish their work. Our part is done except for writing the check. The pounding! It's been going on forever. One antique plate fell of a shelf and broke. After that we realized we needed to take things off the walls! It's like living inside a snare drum.

Speaking of snare drum, Cam and Betsy had a swell time in Wisconsin and met my baby brother. Whit and Noel are bronze and beautiful after a week in Hawaii. They saw Sayid! Claire got a $500 bonus after resigning on April Fools Day and then revealing that it was a prank. Best April Fools ever!

Norris and I are happily buzzing and planning our trip. We've made reservations for drinks at the Burj, which carries a cover charge of about $125. Who cares? It's the only 7 star hotel in the world!

Now if I could just get my taxes to the accountant...

Maybe I'll have time for an update on the Street of Eames... a fun date with two Kims and a Fritz.

The Airport Dash

It seems all I do lately is drive to the airport.

Last Friday: Pick up Claire

Last Saturday: Drop off Cam & Betsy

Last Monday: Drop off Claire

Last Tuesday: Drop off Whit & Noel

Friday: Drop off Norris

Saturday: Pick up Cam & Betsy

Sunday: Pick up Norris

and Tuesday: Pick up Whit & Noel

No trips for me! But I did take a little side trip to IKEA on one of my airport runs and filled the car with new red chairs and fabric. And Swedish crackers and muesli. Next time it would be cheaper for me to take a trip.

I'm working on....

I seem to be in the middle of a lot of things at the moment...

Maybe it will help me to finish them up if I list them - or at least I can clear my head...

1. Figuring out the menu for Easter Brunch

2. Organizing a Wedding Shower that will be held here on Saturday (food, decorations, games, prizes, gifts)

3. Reading a 900+ page novel (World Without End by Ken Follett)

4. Doing (*starting*) my taxes

5. Taking care of some of my co-worker's clients while he's away - he comes home today, I think, so this one is almost complete, though there are still calls to be made

6. CMA's on several properties

7. Day 6 of a 10 day exercise plan. I love this limited exersie blip so I feel like it's not an endless battle, yet I hope it will get me in the mood to continue

8. Worrying about Norris' dad, who, at 95, is in hospice, but who seems to defy all odds and come back around after both a broken hip and pneumonia in the last month. (Of course this is totally #1 in importance)

9. Figuring out when the kids are home and when they head off on their holidays, and if and when they will all be here at one time

10. Planning for our trip and reading up on Dubai and Cairo and making sure I don't miss anything important or pack anything stupid

11. Preparing for book club here in about 2 weeks - food and good discussion points

12. New siding is going on the house - we are on about day 4 of a war zone. Nice setting for the shower and Easter brunch. Added bonus: Our foreman is in Seattle today becoming an American citizen, so I need to think of something cool to give him when he comes back tomorrow

13. New windows, new deck also being installed in the next new weeks. Deal with delivery, scheduling, keep workers out of each others' hair

14. Deciding on a new exterior paint color for when the siding is finished. This one is the (second) most troubling because I just can't screw it up.
I have enlisted the fabulous Kishra to help me - she has the best eye and knows all the coolest houses to go look at

15. Finding something for the boys' easter baskets

16. Ordering up tickets for a few trips - brothers to Portland this summer, a wedding in PA, a girls trip to the Carolinas, a family trip to Hawaii...

17. Ordering up that dreaded colonoscopy & my annual check-up

18. Last, and certainly not least, finding the right house for A&K, A&J, A&A, C&C, and getting one sold for S, T&S, and S&F...

At least my hairdresser is back. Doing this all with less-than perfect hair was a nightmare, LOL.

Another fun night with the girls!
